Safe nightlife in Bulgaria : Europe Forum - Travellerspoint
Safe nightlife in Bulgaria - Europe Travel Forum at Travellerspoint.
A bunch of those 'typically' balkan mob guys (I try not to generalize) with black leather jackets caused trouble to some young female tourists. All in all, Bulgaria is an amazing and very interesting country that is no less safe than anywhere else, and Id heartily encourage your friend to take advantage of his opportunity to come here! But at one night there was a shootout in the club we were. But the trouble started when one of my friends started chatting with a beautiful girl (really just chatting. But those are fairly well known, and as long as you avoid them youll be absolutely safe and have a great time. From all I hear, Bulgaria is the next big tourist destination in Europe.... I am American, enjoy going out, and have been to many of the nightspots in Sofia. In Sofia we went to several nightclubs (it's too long ago to remeber the names, sry). My boyfriend (also american) joined me over here after my first few months in Bulgaria, so Ive experienced nightlife (and everything else) both as a 'girlfriend' and as an effectively 'single' girl - and have never had the slightest problems. Some were really cool, and we met only nice people. That said, there is a strong mafia presence here, and I willnt suggest hanging out in any of their nightspots. The story you posted about some guy walking up and claiming a girl sounds as ridiculous to me here in Bulgaria as Im sure it does to you. When they got kicked out they shot the bouncer and a local guy who tried to help the girls...And in Varna we had a great time too. Yes, there are some rude people here but certainly no more than anywhere else.
