Regatta OfficesThe offices of 2008 Kaliakria Cup � Black Sea Regatta will be situated in �Marina City�, Marina Balchik and during the race, onboard the start vessel of the Regatta Commission. Sailing classesThe yachts participating in the 2008 Kaliakria Cup � Black Sea Regatta will be divided in three classes: Class A - Keelboats, national class Conrad 25P Peterson (K25P)Class B - Keelboats, IPC handicapClass C - Keelboats, free class (unofficial)3. Sailing InstructionsSailing Instructions will be delivered to the competitors at the time of registration at the Race Office. The Regatta will take place in the bay of Balchik, Cape Kaliakra and Kranevo. The registration of the participants will take place on 29th and 30th May 2008.5. The rumours tell that plenty of treasuresfrom Persia were buried in the caves around the cape. The Thracian used to call it �Tirizis�, the Romans- �Akra�, and theByzantines- �Acres Castelum�. The town is on the place of an ancient Greek colony knownas Dionysopolis, after Dionysos. The walls used to separate the town in three partssuburbs,outer and inner three parts- suburbs, outer and inner town.The first strengthening line is found at the very beginning of the cape.It was built by the Roman Imperator Justinian. Their main goal was to popularize watersports among young people and especially among children, andto revive marine traditions in Bulgaria. These shall be affixed as prescribed in the Sailing instructions.
