Besides being a duo, the two artists are sought-after soloists and teachers. Besides Cumberland, during the 2007/08 season the duo will perform at Apolonia Chamber Music Festival in Bulgaria, Weill Recital Hall in New York, the Consulate General of the Republic of Bulgaria, Sofia Music Weeks Festival, and Annapolis. The next free concert in the 2007/08 Ambassador Series will be music that is fresh and different for most of those attending.On March 14 at 7 p.m. Their debut CD of Bartok's violin and piano rhapsodies and sonatas was released in the fall of 2007. There is no charge for the concert, but donations will be accepted to help defray traveling and other expenses.The duo was founded on a mutual commitment to the violin and piano repertoire, both standard and adventurous. Two distinguished Juilliard graduates, Valtchev and Tchekoratova have performed throughout the United States and Europe.
