Huge stone capital, once used during religious ceremonies, was brought out of the church yesterday. Ivan Rilski" in the town of Veliko Tarnovo. King Shishman's Treasure Discovered under Dumping Site in Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria St. Nikolay Ovcharov discovered over 100 silver coins from the treasure in Veliko Tarnovo, the capital of the Second Bulgarian Kingdom (12th-14th century). Some of the coins once belonged to Sultan Bayezid and his heirs. The archaeologists have been working for ten days already on the site, where the church with the relics of the saint was once situated. They were unearthed during excavations under the St. Under the fragments of the church they found king Ivan Shishman's treasure.The treasure of King Ivan Shishman (1371-1395) turned to be hidden under a dumping site. Everyone there was pretty friendly and most of the folks in the 20s and 30s I found spoke decent English so I will ask them. Get out to the gorges if you can!I don't care what anyone said either, buy yourself some of that seriously frenetic Bulgarian folk music. I didn't do anything sketchy or dangerous though.We took some marshrutkas down to the Rhodope mountains... I found Sofia completely uncharming on the whole when I was there but now, for some reason, I have nothing but nostalgic memories of the place. I think that will be just prior to the tourist rush and before it gets really hot.The more I look into it the more I like it ... I was there around Sept 06 and the weather was perfect, women lovely, and food excellent (never had a bad meal at all in Bulgaria). I'm sure if you ask around some folks will point you to a quality place. I'm sure there were men there to but I cannot remember them. Interesting watching illegal immigrants get kicked off the train.I stopped in Veliko Tarnovo, the medevil captial of Bulgara and packed with knokout women. It actually turned about to be convenient bc we blended in with the group and didn't have to pay an admission fee. It seems like all the girls had huge, watery, jiggly, and barely concealed breasts. Its a great, atmospheric place to visit, an old town overlooking a steep ravine down to the river. Nice cheap, bare bones mountain chalets to stay the night in over the different routes. Nothing grandiose, but extremely pleasant. Reasonably marked trails with some nice humble nature punctuated by crusty villages and bits and bobs of mechanical decay and of course, eternal construction (when you get closer to a town). Saw some REALLY cool contemporary art there. Stick with any Bulgarian restaurant outside of local fast food joints and you will eat cheaply and tastily! Interesting watching illegal immigrants get kicked off the train.I stopped in Veliko Tarnovo, the medevil captial of Bulgara and packed with knokout women. It actually turned about to be convenient bc we blended in with the group and didn't have to pay an admission fee. It seems like all the girls had huge, watery, jiggly, and barely concealed breasts. Its a great, atmospheric place to visit, an old town overlooking a steep ravine down to the river. Nice cheap, bare bones mountain chalets to stay the night in over the different routes. Nothing grandiose, but extremely pleasant. Reasonably marked trails with some nice humble nature punctuated by crusty villages and bits and bobs of mechanical decay and of course, eternal construction (when you get closer to a town). Saw some REALLY cool contemporary art there. Stick with any Bulgarian restaurant outside of local fast food joints and you will eat cheaply and tastily! Hypo Alpe Adria Leasing estimates local yacht sales at 60 mln euro in 2007. Hypo Alpe Adria Leasing said it has agreed financing for three new yachting ports and is in talks for at least another four. It will be bankrolled by Yachting BG, one of the nation's biggest sailing boat importers, and its Italian partner Azimuth Group. New yacht marinas on the drawing boards boast locations like Nesebar, Sozopol, Tsarevo and Ahtopol. One of the agreed projects is for a new facility in Nesebar. The 300-yacht port should be ready in 2009. The capacity of the 200-yacht Marina Sozopol in Sozopol is about to be doubled with the addition of a hotel, apartment buildings, spa center and a conference center on land. Any citizen in the EU should beable to reach emergency services when dialling 112, either from their fixed orfrom their mobile phone.Why is the European Commission advocating 112?European citizens are increasingly travelling to other countries, forbusiness or pleasure. As far as mobile 112 calls are concerned,the normally available caller location just points to the mobile network cell(antenna), from which the 112 call originates. As of on 3 June 2008, the new website ec.europa.eu/112 tells citizens how to use 112 and what to expect from it, particularly when they travel within the EU. At least a part of national emergency centres can handle calls inGerman in Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Lithuania, the Netherlands,Slovenia and Spain. Availability of caller location information can greatly increase the speedand efficiency of emergency services' response to an accident. Calls in French can be handled in Bulgaria, Greece andSpain.
